Who we are and what we actually do
Echogbeta is a Kisumu-based local business providing professional services, bookable appointments, and curated products to residents and small businesses within the city. We opened in 2018 with a team of three and have grown steadily to a team of eleven, all of whom live in or very close to Kisumu. That matters because our staff understands the city's neighbourhoods, rhythms, and what people here genuinely need — not what a headquarters in another city assumes they need. We work across three core areas: hands-on local services (maintenance, repairs, specialist tasks), a structured appointment system for consultations and recurring visits, and a curated product range sourced for Kenya's equatorial climate and local budget realities. We serve private households, landlords managing residential blocks, and small businesses with premises in Kisumu. We don't operate a franchise model or manage staff remotely — everyone on a job is part of the core Echogbeta team, accountable to the same standards.
How we work and what we won't promise
Our process starts with listening. Every new client engagement — whether it's a service job, a consultation appointment, or a product inquiry — begins with a real conversation to understand exactly what's needed and what success looks like for you. We write things down: scope, timeline, cost, and any material risks. We show up when we say we will. Since 2018 we have completed over 1,200 jobs across Kisumu, and the majority of our new clients come through word-of-mouth referrals from existing ones — which we consider the most honest indicator of whether we're doing the job properly. Our slate-professional approach means clean execution, clear communication, and honest reporting when something hasn't gone as planned. We are not the cheapest option in Kisumu, and we don't try to be. What we offer is consistency. On the limits side: we don't take on licensed electrical installations, large-scale construction, or jobs requiring specialised permits we don't currently hold. We also don't operate outside the Kisumu metro area. Some results — surface finishing, painting — depend on substrate conditions and weather that are outside any contractor's control; we brief clients on those variables upfront and don't over-promise on outcomes we can't guarantee.
